PUBLIC ART CONCEPT PITCH
Submission for the Bompas & Parr "Belgravia in Bloom" 2020 outdoor public artwork pitch.
This project wasn't the final chosen installation, but will be showcased at the main exhibition space along with five others.
During the Second World War, large areas around Elizabeth Street in Belgravia had been destroyed by intense bombing. Rosebay Willowherb was the first flower to grow from these sites, bringing small pockets of beauty to the destruction. This gave Londoners a hopeful vision for the future.
Willowherb is considered a symbol of rebirth. My symbolic Willowherb flower represents hope and positivity.
